Collaboration
The residual-based analysis paradigm can revolutionize healthcare. We believe SBM technology will be effective for a wide variety of disease monitoring and diagnostics uses. We are currently working primarily on detection of nosocomial (hospital acquired) infection, and on ECG diagnostics. However, there are a number of healthcare-related applications of the technology awaiting further exploration. These include health maintenance (diabetes, HIV, CPOD, CHF), wellness and health improvement trajectory tracking (post-surgical, weight loss), athletic performance optimization, drug trial health monitoring, blood chemistry diagnostics, patient typing and screening (proteomics, metabolomics) and more.
Candidate applications will have one or more of these common qualifications:
- Availability of multivariate patient data, typically more than 3 signals
- Patient data forms a time series, e.g., >100 measurements in the time period of interest, OR
- Patient data forms a population dataset with hundreds to thousands of samples
- Need for increased visibility into health or the disease process
- Progressive condition where earlier insight enhances treatment options
We seek collaborators who recognize the potential for residual-based analytics
in the patient care or diseases of their area of expertise.
